A lo largo de su trayectoria, ha abordado de manera constante la relación entre la violencia estatal, la memoria, las fracturas del sistema político, la resiliencia como persistencia y la emergencia ambiental. Parte de su biografía como hijo de un preso muerto en la dictadura de Pinochet para desarrollar obras comprometidas con poner en evidencia -a través de estructuras simbólicas y materiales- los fundamentos del poder político, su controvertida narrativa de justicia social y la arrogancia humana que ha conducido a los actuales impactos asociados a la crisis climática.

Para el 50 aniversario, Máximo Corvalán-Pincheira propone la performance MEMORIE IN FLOSSO, que pretende transponer simbólicamente, a través de una acción colectiva, el compromiso necesario para hacer del pasado una memoria y un recurso, y al mismo tiempo la importancia de proteger los recursos naturales y los derechos humanos. En el centro de la idea está el deseo de conmemorar y mantener viva la memoria de los desaparecidos, recordar la solidaridad italiana e internacional que surgió en respuesta al golpe de Estado chileno y reafirmar la necesidad de diálogo entre los Estados en un presente atravesado por el derrumbe de las democracias y la emergencia climática.

Throughout his career, he has consistently addressed the relationship between state violence, memory, fractures in the political system, resilience as persistence and environmental emergency. He starts from his biography as the son of a prisoner killed in the Pinochet dictatorship to develop works committed to exposing – through symbolic and material structures – the foundations of political power, its contested narrative of social justice, and the human arrogance that has led to the current impacts associated with the climate crisis.

For the 50th anniversary, Máximo Corvalán-Pincheira proposes the performance MEMORIE IN FLOSSO, which aims to transpose symbolically, through a collective action, the commitment necessary to make the past a memory and a resource, and at the same time the importance of protecting natural resources and human rights. At the heart of the idea is the desire to commemorate and keep alive the memory of the disappeared, to remember the Italian and international solidarity that emerged in response to the Chilean coup d’état, and to reaffirm the need for dialogue between states in a present crossed by the collapse of democracies and the climate emergency.
